A Study Of Flying Knees (Muay Thai, MMA, Kick Boxing - Masvidal VS Ben Askren)

yellow Michael Jordan was known for covering tremendous distance when he jumped and the seeker was not only his natural explosive ability but there is almost this magical quality dual Mali was in the air It was as if he defied the physics of reality hanging above the ground like he was floating the secret was in the way his legs contracted mid-jump and quickly expanded this gave him a little more umph when carrying his mass forward we see something similar with the flying knee leaping off of one foot has the knee Pierce's into the air the alternation of the knee where the first Nicoise places with the other it generates more off behind the strike this alternation midair is what makes the technique so dangerous the first knee should feel light just carrying your mass forward the second is it alternates in ferocious with bad intentions it's a similar philosophy to a switch kick really this technique is a strong counter vs both boxing level changes ducts and of course wrestling for that same reason because if you do possess the timing the athleticism your opponent might end up moving their head directly into a thick dense portion of the human body of course depending on the person's chin they might be able to absorb it and continue the game but no one really wants to take one of these which is also why they're so difficult to train in sparring you don't really consider me your trainee partners as the damage they could receive absorbing one for it weighs what gloved fists conventionally do maybe that's why they aren't as prevalent as they could be nonetheless though this technique is what Jorge master doll used to smash the odds crushing Ben Askren square law undefeated Sprague 99 Oh Theo had to go how did poor a mouse Fidel landed exactly though thank you for joining me as we take a closer glance not–how sitting off the cage masked fellow gives no cue as to his intentions look at the distance he breaks with him from from here he positions his feet to – one two after the second sprinting step he's airborne but notice then he's moving into the direction of the knee why then was going in for his wrestling shot before mass Fidel was even airborne and I do not believe he expected Maz Vidal to enter against him with the knee after all how many times has Jorge mouseville thrown a flying knee in his career he typically just boxes us boxing is quite excellent throws a few beautiful spinning kicks here and there but in this instance it's the same philosophy artists finishing there until the element of surprise used a technique he rarely ever uses if at all he knew and has never seen him throw this before which is exactly why he knew the Nessman would not expect it thus the first reaction as Jorge Maz felony enters was been a sprint natural reaction as the lead knee alternates with the back de Ben Askren found himself moving into the strike from there he was way too fin cast to retain his undefeated status as all had to go it's a very simple technique but for that same reason so effective with boxing and wrestling having such a high success rate in this world it's curious as to why this powerful technique isn't it more prevalent perhaps again it is due to the fact it is immoral to use against training partners nonetheless though after delivering the fastest finish in UFC history I'm sure we'll see a lot more it'll be interesting to see how been asked and recovers from this and/or a massive el being one of my favorite fighters I'm excited to see what his future has in store from here if you like more from me please subscribe it at the notifications thank you for your date smash like but if you enjoyed its go karma and until next time peace

  1. Is that your real voice or is this a computer generated voice? The rhythm of speech is so weird and unnatural.

  2. I find it really cool that he did it step-for-step exactly in the exact spots of the Octagon that he did during training in the actual fight too. When you watch the training flying knee and you watch the actual UFC 239 it's a mirror image. He moves to the right 2-3 steps and bolts towards center cage.

  3. "If you know yourself and know your enemy, you need not know the outcome of a hundred battles….." Still rings true thousands of years later ??

  4. It was impressive but were the punches and mocking after it necessary? I just dont think so he'd won, could have done so with a little grace.

  5. Someone please make a shooting star meme of either Masvidal taking off, or of Aksren's head soaring majestically through the cosmos after eating that knee ok thx

  6. The first part of what Ben's doing is a no no in so many ways. Football for example, hes coming in head down. Great way to break your neck. We learn head up. Head on the side of the ball. Wrap him up. Is the text book technique. Hit em low and wrap em up. Like a double leg except you dudes go head to the inside. Which is better for you I guess? But ya gotta keep your head up. Hesitation is devastation

  7. The origin of the flying knee dates back to the days of Professional Street Fighting; when a legendary Thai fighter named Sagat introduced the "Tiger Knee."
