(bat hits ball) (crowd cheering) – Alright, second straight
day you had a big, four-run seventh inning. This time it was right after you got down, what kind of response
was that from your team? – Well it was good.
Their guy Roach is good. He's been good all year.
I'm sure he was 10-0 coming in and you know, we just kind of put some good at-bats together late and we kinda left some
balls over the plate and our guys took advantage of it and put some good swings on. So it's great to see David Avitia, you know, kind of have
a good offensive night. He's so good defensively
and he's working so hard on his offense and I'm
really excited for him cause he's just, he wants
to be a great player and he's proved himself
as a great defender and now he's starting to
learn how to swing the bat a little better which will be great. And he caught Winchester
with that big base hit up the middle there,
you know that was huge, runners on first and third. And so you know I think that's just part of kinda who we gotta be, you know? And I think the guys are learning. There's no panic, if it doesn't go so well early, you just keep on grinding, keep on putting good at bats together. And you've just gotta stick to the plan, and that's what we did tonight. – Again, starting pitching puts you in the position to win. Schneider, with it,
would he do well tonight and especially he had
a short outing against them the first time he saw them. – Yeah, you know, everyone knows they can hit, you look at the numbers,
they're just really good. So he just did a good job of keeping them off balance and we got that fastball in and he did that and then he comes back with a change-up and
you know, I think today he relied more on his fastball, you know. He was able to spot it in and out and just kind of mix it up in the zone. You know, he just,
again, he's a competitive young man and he just, you know, he just kind of grinded his way through it and made some big pitches when he had to and they put some good swings on them but, fortunately, you know, some fly balls and they were outs, so we'll take it and that's just a good lesson for him is, you know, his change up is his pitch but, he's gotta learn how to work off of his fastball a little more and I think he did that tonight and hopefully that's
a good lesson for him. – What do you say to the guys now, when you're one win away
from everybody's dream? – Well, not to much, I mean, you know, you can't, I mean, we still gotta play
good baseball, you know, we just try to make sure
they understand that don't make it bigger than what it is, just come out tomorrow and play well and commit to pitchers throwing strikes,
playing good defense, put the ball in play and we'll take it from there.
