Hulk Hogan ALMOST JOINS NEW JAPAN! WWE Debut SCRAPPED?! | WrestleTalk News Feb. 2018

Hello and welcome to the WrestleTalk News,
I am Luke Owen. Headline: Buddy Murphy Joins 205 Live It was announced on 205 Live that former NXT
Tag Team Champion Buddy Murphy – real-life fiance of Alexa Bliss – will be joining the
cruiserweight division as part of the tournament to crown a new Cruiserweight Champion. Murphy
is the final name to be announced in the 16-man tournament, and will face Ariya Daivari next
week. Murphy is seemingly going to be getting a
big push on the purple brand, getting a video package to hype his debut and new gimmick
“the best kept secret”. Also on the show will be Gentleman Jack Gallagher against Mustafa
Ali, and those winners will join TJP, Cedrick Alexander, Roderick Strong, Kalisto, Mark
Andrews and Drew Gulak in the second round. However if rumours are to be believed, Buddy
Murphy wasn’t the first choice to join the 205 Live tournament. Headline: Lio Rush 205 Live Debut Scrapped? Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet and Rovert
tweeted before 205 Live aired that the surprise entrant into the Cruiserweight Championship
tournament wasn’t Buddy Murphy, but Lio Rush. “Hearing from a source who has been reliable
in the past that there’s been talk of putting Lio Rush in the 205 Live cruiserweight tournament.” “Looks like they went with Murphy instead.
Had heard it would be Lio vs Daivari next week, but was still up in the air this morning.” Rush debuted in NXT last year but found himself
in hot water after making an ill-advised joke about the release of Emma. A lot of wrestlers
didn’t take kindly to his comments, and Rush has reportedly been working on rebuilding
relationships ever since. However while Satin and Rovert were very sure on their reports
for Rush’s 205 Live debut, the fact there was a long video package for Buddy Murphy
suggests he was the plan all along. Having said that WWE’s own website confused Murphy
with his old tag team partner Wesley Blake – so who knows what’s real anymore! Headline: WrestleRamble Extra Winner! What is real is bonus podcast content. We’d
like to thank everyone who voted in this month’s Patreon exclusive WrestleRamble poll – and
we can now announce that Oli and I will review WWE No Way Out 2004 for this month’s show.
$5 and above backers will get the WrestleRamble Extra at the end of the month, and will also
get access to our back catalogue of reviews including Money in the Bank 2011, Halloween
Havoc 1998, Armageddon 2000 and Wrestle Kingdom 10. Headline: Hulk Hogan To New Japan? Speaking of New Japan’s biggest show of
the year – nailed it – and Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated had an interesting note
in his Extra Mustard column. According to Barasso, Chris Jericho wasn’t the only former
WWE Champion New Japan wanted to bring in for Wrestle Kingdom 12, claiming that the
company reached out to Hulk Hogan to have him appear as an honorary member of the Bullet
Club – fitting as the group took many of their visuals and styles from Hogan’s New World
Order. However when The Hulkster named his price – reportedly $750,000, brother – New
Japan said no. Hogan would have been the third former WWE
employee to join the company in some capacity in the space of a couple of months – with
New Japan revealing over the weekend that Rey Mysterio will be wrestling at their Strong
Style Evolved show in March against Jushin “Thunder” Liger – which is also rumoured
to feature Chris Jericho vs. Tetsyo Naito [24]. However there is a chance that Hogan
named such a big price as he’s trying to butter up his old boss. Headline: Hulk Hogan Back To WWE? Speaking with TMZ Sports before a Q&A in Tampa,
Hogan said that he’s ready to return to WWE – and that everyone is singing from the
same hymn sheet. “For me, I’d love to change that last story
that was told with the Hulk Hogan career. I’d love to get back in the fold, get back
on the inside and correct a lot of stuff… It has to be the perfect timing for both sides.
We’re all on good terms. We’re all working towards the same goal. So hopefully, I’ll
be able to be back with my wrestling family some day soon.” Have the details for the Raw and Smackdown
draft been leaked? Click the videos on screen right now for more awesome wrestling content.
